Dr. Christine Ong

BSc, BVSc(hons), DVM

Education: University of British Columbia, Massey University

Christine was born in Singapore but grew up in North Vancouver. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from UBC and shortly thereafter moved to New Zealand for five years to attend veterinary school, where she obtained her veterinary degree and graduated with distinction in 2008. She has been a part of the Oak Animal Hospital family for almost 15 years, starting first as a volunteer and working her way up to being a highly respected veterinarian. Since becoming a vet she has found all aspects of pet medicine rewarding but particularly enjoys the fields of dentistry, internal medicine and making long-term relationships with pet families. She hopes that all who meet her can see her passion for animals and their well-being.

Her own family has expanded now to include a supportive husband, daughter Cecily, son Griffin, an energetic Boston Terrier named Tyson and a calico cat from NZ named Cassie. Much of her time outside the clinic is spent being a busy mom but when she does find some extra time she loves to bake fancy cakes, travel, try new restaurants and most importantly remember to just slow down and enjoy the precious moments.

What she loves most about Oak Animal Hospital is its collaborative environment comprised of multiple vets and support staff who all have similar goals and values, who come together to help animals live their best life.
