Dr. Dhillon is a very passionate and dedicated veterinarian. His love for animals began at a young age on the family’s farm, which eventually led him into this noble profession. In 1991, he received his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry and completed his Master’s in Veterinary Immunology in 1994. He completed a one-year clinical rotation at Purdue University (USA) where he developed a special interest in diagnostic medicine, particularly ultrasonography and endoscopy. Dr. Dhillon worked as an ultrasound consultant in New Jersey (USA) performing up to 20 ultrasound cases per day.
In April 1999, it was time to pursue his dream to practice his personal philosophy of health through science and compassion and he opened Oak Animal Hospital in Vancouver. His continued commitment and dedications to high quality patient care led Oak Animal Hospital into an AAHA certified practice which has been awarded the Greater Vancouver “Consumer Choice Award” for the last 10 years.
In 2008 he founded Ultra-Mobile Pet Diagnostics where he provides mobile pet ultrasound and endoscopy services to other small animal hospitals in Greater Vancouver, to raise the level of veterinary care available to patients in need.
He then went on to complete his diplomat status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (canine & feline).
In 2015 Dr. Dhillon listened to his clients and patients needs for a 24 hour animal emergency hospital in Vancouver that provided routine and emergency care, cost-effectively, with no emergency fee. Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency opened its doors in March this year to provide quality, emergency care with in-depth diagnostics, including an in-house lab, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, an intensive care unit and surgery. The hospital is also equipped with Canada’s first Vimago Veterinary CT Scanner (Epica medical) to provide head to toe, on-site, advanced screening in an economical and efficient way! Next year he is committed to equipping Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency with a minimally invasive surgery unit and a therapeutic laser.
Dr. Dhillon loves to spend time golfing, taking his kids to different sports and having quality time with his family and Chip (their Miniature Australian Shepherd).
