Dr. Dhillon is an incredibly passionate and devoted veterinarian whose deep affection for animals was nurtured during his upbringing on the family farm, ultimately inspiring his pursuit of this noble career. He earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry in 1991 and went on to complete a master’s degree in veterinary Immunology in 1994. During his academic journey, he embarked on a one-year clinical rotation at Purdue University in the United States, where he developed a particular fascination with diagnostic medicine, with a focus on ultrasound and endoscopy. Afterward, Dr. Dhillon worked as an ultrasound consultant in New Jersey, USA, where he routinely conducted up to 20 ultrasound cases each day.
In April 1999, Dr. Dhillon decided it was time to turn his dream of practicing his personal philosophy of promoting health through science and compassion into a reality. He founded Oak Animal Hospital in Vancouver, where he has remained unwaveringly dedicated to providing top-tier patient care. Under his guidance, Oak Animal Hospital earned the prestigious distinction of becoming an AAHA certified practice. For over a decade, it has consistently received the “Consumer Choice Award” for Greater Vancouver, a testament to its commitment to excellence.
In 2008, Dr. Dhillon established Ultra-mobile Pet Diagnostics, a venture aimed at offering mobile pet ultrasound and endoscopy services to various small animal hospitals throughout Greater Vancouver. This initiative was undertaken with the objective of elevating the quality of veterinary care available to patients in need. While managing Oak Animal Hospital and delivering mobile pet ultrasound services in Vancouver, he successfully achieved diplomat status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (canine & feline). This remarkable accomplishment showcases his unwavering commitment to enhancing his knowledge and expertise, ultimately benefiting his clients and ensuring the best possible care for his patients.
In 2015, Dr. Dhillon responded to the needs of his clients and patients by establishing Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency, a 24-hour animal emergency facility in Vancouver. This facility not only offers routine veterinary services but also provides emergency care. Burrard Animal Hospital + Emergency commenced operations in March 2015, aiming to deliver comprehensive emergency care supported by advanced diagnostics, including an in-house lab, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, an intensive care unit, and surgical services. Notably, it is equipped with Canada’s pioneering Vimago Veterinary CT Scan (Epica Medical), allowing for comprehensive on-site advanced screening from head to toe in an economical and efficient manner.
Dr. Dhillon is dedicated to contributing to the field by actively mentoring aspiring veterinarians, offering valuable experience and growth prospects. Additionally, he volunteers on the committee for the College of Veterinarians of BC, where he works tirelessly to uphold and enforce high-level industry standards and regulatory practices.
In Dr. Dhillon’s spare time he loves to play golf, travel, and spend time with his family and fur babies Rocky and Happy.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in animal studies from UBC, Linda went to China Agricultural University in Beijing to pursue her veterinary dream where she graduated with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in veterinary science.
Her interests in the veterinary field lie far and wide and she’s fluent in both English and Mandarin (but no stranger to Cantonese as well) She has a cat named Mango, who follows her around like a puppy and a dog name Lumi, who she rescued and nursed back to health 4 years ago. In her spare time, Linda enjoys hanging out with friends for mini-golf, room escapes and seeking out gourmet cuisines.
